Drug Dealers Flee Cops, Crash Car

By Stan Lynch on January 26
Tweet

When detectives from the Burbank Police Department spotted a suspicious vehicle in the 4400 block of Sarah St., around 2 p.m. Wednesday, they figured the two men inside in it were up to no good.  They were right.

The detectives observed the passenger get out of the vehicle and walk into a residence while the driver remained behind, with the vehicle’s engine running.  When the passenger returned a short time later quickly sped away. Suspecting that the two men be burglars, they attempted to make a traffic stop and requested marked patrol units to help pull the vehicle over.  The suspects failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued.  Eventually, they crashed their vehicle into a raised concrete island and stop sign at on the south side of Chandler Blvd. at Pass Ave.  The driver and passenger then fled on foot.  Uniformed patrol units converged on the area, and the two suspects were apprehended a short time later.

The Dennis Serrano Tanjuaquio, 31, of Simi Valley; and Marco Alonzo Morales, 28, of North Hills, were arrested for the transportation of methamphetamine for sale, identity theft, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.  In addition, Tanjuaquio, the driver, was arrested for driving under the influence.  His bail was set at $55,000, while Moales’ bail was $50,000.  Both suspects were booked into the Glendale Jail.
