Marines Invade Smoke House to Help With ‘Toys for Tots’

The Smoke House Restaurant in Burbank teamed up with the United States Marine Corps to help with their national ‘Toys for Tots campaign last week.

Toys were collected, filling two large buckets with donations still be accepted until the very last minute to make sure that no child goes without a toy from Santa at Christmas time.

The show will opened with the Marine Corps Color Guard bringing in the colors, the National Anthem as sung by Mark Sellers and a recitation of the World War I poem In Flanders Field to honor those who serve and those who fell in action, in all our wars. Pauline Talent, who began the Toys for Tots

program in Burbank in 1950 will also said a few words about the origins of Toys for Tots in Los Angeles.

The musical group Starlight with vocalists Victoria Goodman, Amanda Leader, and Katie Norris also sung with Starlight’s four piece band,  who also performed Christmas music, jazz, blues and swing, with a tap dance by Katie Norris. At Band breaks Award winning entertainer Joe Skilton performed magic.
